What a year it has been!
We have finally settled into our new home, adjusted to our new city, found routine with our new jobs and have grown so much.
There were ups and downs, tears and lots of laughter and now is the time that I like look back and ask myself;
What worked?
What did not work?
What have I accomplished?
What did I want to do, but did not and why?
What are my hopes and dreams & am I working toward them?
I don’t really do “resolutions,” I just try to reflect and learn from the past year. This year was a big adjustment period. We adjusted to a new neighborhood, I adjusted to my new job, the kids adjusted to their new school and Tom co-founded a new company. I have tried (still trying) to find balance between being a mom of 2, working full time as a Physician Assistant and also with Instagram/blogging. Tom and I have figured out how to be full time working parents with two little ones, in a city where we have no family. I can’t say it has been easy but we are finally finding our groove with it all.
Highlights of 2018:
We took our first family trip to Disney World.
We hosted our first Thanksgiving in our new home.
Jude turned 3 and Lilah turned 1.
Tom and I celebrated our 4 year Wedding anniversary.
My Instagram has continued to grow and has brought me so many wonderful opportunities.
We have made new friends with our neighbors.

We did not travel as much as I would have liked but I learned to be happy with the season we were in.
If you had a chance to see my latest Instagram post, you’d see that every year I pick a word.
This year my word was GRATITUDE.
I wanted to lean in, be more grateful and appreciate the little moments in life. To be more intentional and take the time to recognize the small things. By doing so, it has totally changed my outlook in life.
I have learned that gratitude turns what we have into ENOUGH and helps me find JOY in every moment.
In our society that is driven by always thinking we “need more,” I have found that gratitude is what has kept me grounded.
Gratitude is what has gotten me through all of the chaos that life has thrown at me.
Gratitude = the key my happiness.
For example, instead of being sad that we did not travel as much, I was grateful for the days of being home with my family. (Kitchen dance parties are now my favorite!)
Being parents to two small children is rewarding, humbling, exhausting, testing and wonderful; by choosing to see the good with it all, can make a world of difference!
Now it’s off to 2019…
The upcoming New Year already has so much in store.
I have something really exciting to share with you all soon. It’s a new business venture that I have founded!!
It is exciting, scary and something that makes me feel so vulnerable. But everything we want in life is on the other side of fear, so I am chasing after my dreams and going for it!
Stay tuned for my New Year 2019 post coming soon!!
Cheers everyone and happy New Years eve!
