Stay Connected:
Don’t let the stay at home orders prevent you from still staying connected to your friends and family. Try using Facetime, Facebook Video Messenger or Zoom and talk to them virtually. Meet with a friend and have a virtual coffee date or host a virtual girls night. My friends and I had a girls night last Friday and it was a blast!
Meditate:
Meditation can be your best friend right now. If you have had a hard time in the past with sitting in silence, you can try a guided meditation where someone walks you through it. Apps like Headspace and Calm both offer guided meditations. In a world where we are worrying so much about the future, meditation can help you focus on the present.
Tidy Up / Organize:
What better timing than to take on a home project. Tidy up your closet, re-organize your cabinets, clean out your garage… whatever it is that you have been putting off, now would be a good time to do it. Plus, it will get you moving and you will feel like you accomplished something which also helps your mood!
Exercise:
Thank goodness we live in a time where we have access to the internet and can work out from home! There are so many apps out there that you can use or simply get outside and go for a walk or run. Breaking a sweat will burn off tension (and boost your mood.) If you are having trouble with staying motivated or accountability, you can join me on my fitness journey HERE.
Self care:
I don’t know about you but I am all about self care right now. From spa nights with bubble baths, face masks and doing my own nails, it has been fun to just relax at home. I picked up some cute nail polish and a face mask last time I was at the grocery store and once a week I try to take a night for myself. I’ll ask Tom to watch the kids, light a candle & take a bath. Having even just 30 minutes alone makes a HUGE difference.
Alright friends, I hope you are hanging in there! I know right now is definitely a trying time so do yourself a favor and focus on what you can control. Have a good rest of your day!
xo, Nicole
