One of my favorite things about the Holidays is getting together with friends and family. Last weekend I hosted a holiday party for our neighborhood and it was such a great turn out. We had a Gingerbread making contest and Santa even came at the end!
I know when it comes to hosting events it can be intimidating but with some planning and Walmart Inhome a lot of the stress can be alleviated! My intention with this post is to give you some tips and tricks to host a stress free party yourself!
1. Brainstorm. Before you even begin shopping or sending out invites, figure out what kind of party you want to have, who you want to invite and what the theme would be. Once you have a good sense of that it will make food selection easier. I wanted to host a cozy holiday party for our neighborhood with yummy food and desserts that were kid friendly.
2. Send out invites. Text, email or mail invitations. Once everyone RSVP’s and you know how many people are coming then it’s time to plan out your meals!
3. Pick out your appetizers, main dish and desserts. I picked out 3 appetizers, 1 main dish and assorted desserts for the party. After I knew what I was going to make I was able to break down the ingredients to each dish and then make a list.
4. Order your food to be delivered the day before the party. I ordered all of mine through Walmart Grocery app and set it for delivery with Walmart InHome. Once I knew what my grocery list was, it made ordering a lot easier. I knew what I needed for each dish and was able to add it to the list for delivery with Walmart InHome. It is also good to know that you have up until 1am the day before to modify your order. Fun tip: You can order more than just food with Walmart InHome delivery! I ordered everything we needed for the party including the gingerbread house kits, Christmas decorations, napkins, plates and utensils for delivery as well.
5. Make some dishes in advance. I was able to make a few dishes the night before so the day of I wasn’t rushing around. Plus, if you find that you forgot something or need to get more of something else you have a day buffer. Also, put what food you can in their containers for the day of the party. That way you only have to take off the lids.
6. On the day of the party take 1-2 hours before the party to set up. No joke you guys, I worked the day of the party! I was done with work in time to set up and because I ordered through Walmart Inhome (and prepped the day before) everything was ready to go! I just pulled off lids, baked the spinach dip, set up plates and made the punch!
7. Enjoy the party! Mingle, talk, eat and have fun!
It was such a fun night, everyone had a nice time and the kids loved decorating their Gingerbread houses. I have to say that ordering everything through the Walmart Inhome service took SO much stress out of the planning. There was no running around in the store trying to find things or lugging multiple bags back and forth from the car. I was able to make a list, order everything and have it delivered right to my house! Thank you again Walmart InHome for taking so much stress out of the party planning process.
