Our Nightly Routine & Celebrating Parents Choice with Walmart

I am so excited to be teaming up with Walmart for the month of October to celebrate Parents Choice, their exclusive baby brand. From pregnancy to now, Walmart has always been a go-to for baby items for the kids.

One of the things I have found to be most helpful in our household is a good night time routine for the kids. It has created a predictable environment, allows Jude and Lilah to get ready for bed and puts them on a good sleep schedule. Ever since we started making their sleep schedule a priority, we have seen an improvement in their quality of sleep – both falling and staying asleep and their mood during the day.

Our nightly routine:

1. We start out every night with a bubble bath. This allows Jude and Lilah to relax and unwind after their day. We always try to stick to the same time, 7:30pm, which is usually after we eat dinner and clean up. Lately, I have been using this new line for bath time, Hello Bello. It is a plant based product line for babies made by Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard and the kids love it! I got the Squeaky Clean Kiddo Kit – which comes with shampoo, bubble bath, lotion and wipes. It’s everything we need for our nightly bath routine. The bubble bath has Lavender in it which is so calming for the kids. We apply lotion when they get out of the bath and the Vanilla Apricot lotion smells so good! *I also think this set would be a great gift for a baby shower or new mama!
2. After their bath, I brush our their hair with this brush and put on their jammies. Lately, I have been using the Parents Choice Diapers / Wipes and love that their diapers are Dermatologically tested, FSC certified, and free from bleach/elemental chlorine/latex/perfumes. Lilah will usually wake up if she goes potty while sleeping and these diapers keep her so dry and don’t irritate her at all! Both of these cute PJ sets are also from Walmart, found here and here. 3. Next up, it’s time to brush their teeth. This may sound out of the norm for kids but Jude and Lilah LOVE to brush their teeth! This step stool has been so helpful because both of them are in an “I can do it” phase and it has provided them with the independence to do things on their own. We use these toothbrushes found here and they like this toothpaste found here.
4.  Next we snuggle up and read a bedtime story. Jude and Lilah always have to have their “blankies” with them before we read and the one’s here are SO soft. For story time, Jude and Lilah will pick out their own book and Tom and I will take turns reading to them.  Story time has also served as a great way to end the day together as a family.
5. After that it’s nightly night. We tuck them each into bed, say our prayers and off to sleep they go!

This simple nightly routine has really helped us provide a good schedule for Jude and Lilah. I have loved getting our baby items from Walmart because the products are high quality and at such great prices!
