With all of this craze about essential oils lately I wanted to create this post to make sure that you guys understand the importance of educating yourselves when it comes to purchasing essential oils. And just to warn you, this post is going to be very straight forward because it is a topic that I am very PASSIONATE about.
Did you know essential oils are not regulated?
Therefore, you have to be very careful with where you purchase essential oils from. And i’ll tell you right off the bat, you are NOT going to find quality essential oils at a grocery store, at an outlet store or a large merchant store. Large companies are catching on to this healthy living awakening and using the term “essential oils” to sell their products. The way that they are selling them cheaper is because they are diluting the oils, putting fillers or additives into them and calling them “essential oils.” Please don’t fall victim into thinking these are pure. When you are using essential oils on your body for any reason related to health or skincare, it is very dangerous to use these types of so called “essential oils” and you can actually bring more harm than good due to the additives they put in them. You can even have bad reactions and they can make conditions worse.
For reference, did you know it takes 22 pounds of rose petals to fill a 5ml bottle of pure essential rose oil? Thats why quality oils costs more. It takes A LOT to create them. So with essential oils, you get what you pay for.
